Indians on the mound: Right-hander Jake Westbrook was in midseason form, giving up just a pair of hits with four strikeouts in three innings of work. Closer Joe Borowski continued his scoreless spring by keeping the Reds at bay in the fourth. Brian Slocum made his spring debut and worked out of trouble in the fifth before Aaron Laffey coughed up three runs in the sixth.

Grapefruit League records: Reds 7-2; Indians 7-4.

Up next: The Reds return home to Sarasota to face the Pirates at 1:05 p.m. ET. Left-hander Eric Milton will start opposite left-hander Tom Gorzelanny.
