Well obviously I love my Browns, but other than that it's ladies, and then movies. Yeah.. I love the Browns.
  1. Browns Lose Another Corner

When I said every other down, I was just trying to make a point, I don't literally mean every other down. I'd pass on Vincent, he might be a little too old.. We signed Terry Cousin recently, who isn't a bad pickup, and I wouldn't mind making a trade for somebody.
  2. Browns Lose Another Corner

The browns didn't draft a cornerback did they? I guess the Bengals late round picks will do well this year too looking at our past in players like Housh and Nudukwe. That's good news for us seeing how we have alot of late round picks. I think the Browns cornerbacks are adequate and their depth is hurting badly. Your front 7 may produce well but consider that your 2 new aquistions played in a 4-3 defense before coming to the Browns and Rogers is known to get frustrated in a 2 gap defense. Imagine his frustration as a NT. I'm not sold that a team that ranks 30th in the league in defense, that stayed very healthy all year long, adds 2 DTs, loses their best CB.....and then all of the sudden is a defense to be reckoned with. I don't buy it. I truly believe that your weakness will be in the secondary and teams will game plan against that. I think the Browns are a good team, I really do...but they won't make the playoffs this year. I'm not sold on Anderson. They won't sneak up on anyone this year. 5 prime time games can cause alot of inconsistency. I think they fall to 8-8 or below this year. Sorry...but your fanbase is going to have a meltdown when things don't start like they did in 2007. Pittsburgh and Dallas to start the year is tough. Once Anderson is gone and Quinn starts in '09 I think they will be a very good team. No, the Browns didn't draft a cornerback this year surprisingly. I agree, I think our corners are good, we just don't have the depth at the moment. I don't think that Shaun Rogers will have much of a problem at NT, I'd be more worried about Corey Williams. Bodden was absolutely god awful last year, and was constantly injured, I don't see why losing him would bring this defense down. Teams are going to game plan against the secondary? Well, that might work and all, until the QB is facing constant pressure the entire game, and starts making bad decisions and gets sacked every other play. I don't really think we "Snuck up" on anyone last year, we were just better than them, and played against an average schedule.
  3. Browns Lose Another Corner

Theyre defn. a NOW team ala marvin lewis' new saying. Too bad they're NOW got them 10-6 and NOW is now THEN lol. NOW its time for them to go back to 5-11. For probably the first time, I actually agree with you. Uhh.. I'm gonna have to say that probably won't happen, Eric Wright and Brandon McDonald are both very talented. Romeo and Mel Tucker both can develop corners that aren't drafted high, plus the fact that our front seven is going to make them look much better by putting pressure on the QB. I thought Eric Wright was having legal problems? Nice to see one of the few Browns fans with common courtesy back posting. As far as I'm concerned you are always a welcome addition to any football discussion. When he was at USC during the 2004-2005 season he did, and that's why he transferred to UNLV, but from everything I know he is fine now.

  5. It sucks to be right all the time

Actually, Cleveland won TOP 33-27. Hardly a case of the Bengals chewing up the clock via the run (no surprise since most of Watson's yards came in he first half). And you ignore the bottom line: that almost all of Watson's run yards led to...6 points. To return to the point in your OP, we did not win because we ran the football more. We won because Derek Anderson picked today to implode, and Hall and Nduke were in position to take advantage -- and did. That isn't to say the Bengals don't need to run more...they do. But again, this game is a poor example to use to illustrate that point. Cleveland won the time of possession, but if Watson doesn't move those chains and get those yards in the first half, Cincinnati produces so many more of its trademark 'three and outs' they are famous for, giving the Browns more opportunities and more points. The passing game was total crap Sunday. If the running game had either fizzled or not been used, as in the Niners game, the Bengals would have been down by half, playing catch-up the rest of the game, which they can no longer play. And you are wrong about the points. Watson's success on the ground led directly to six points, but moved the team within position for at least one of the field goals, thus nine of nineteen points in a game that was won by only five. We didn't win because Anderson imploded because, guess what? So did Palmer. They cancel each other out. If two or three of those picks would've went back for touchdowns, like Carson and Arizona, I'd agree with you. They didn't. We held on to win, not exclusively, but due in large part, to a solid running game in the first half of the game. Without that running game, Cleveland gets more shots at the ball in the first half and starts putting points on the board. While the defense played well in picking off Anderson, any sound football coach or expert will tell you you cannot rely on that to win games. You didn't win because Anderson imploded? Are you kidding me? He literally gave your offensive 14 points, the game wouldn't have been close had Anderson not been a jackass on his last two passes of the first half.
  6. What's the matter with some of you? You'd rather lose to get a better draft pick? That's not cool..
  7. Bengals vs Browns game thread

You guys need to get rid of both your coordinators.. They are just straight up bad, lol.
  8. Bengals vs Browns game thread

Good game guys.. Shouldn't have been close.
  9. Bengals vs Browns game thread

Sweet play call Cincy offensive coordinator, who shouldn't be there next year.
  10. Bengals vs Browns game thread

Paybacks. Plain and simple. Paybacks? Or to make it a three score game that would still end up in a tie.
  11. Bengals vs Browns game thread

Anderson is the most overrated QB in the league right now.. God damnit, put in Brady.

    Cleveland sports on the rise!
  13. I have never and will never pull for my team to lose - not for a draft pick or even to screw the Steelers - its just not in me... I know, I was joking.
  14. Come on guys.. You really don't want Pittsburgh to win the division do you?
  15. Because we have amazing fan support, a rich owner, I don't know? Think about it.
