Welcome to the offseason, boys and girls. First up: free agency. Here's a look at our top UFAs, drawn from Spotrac's rundown here: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2026/team/cin

I have included the estimations of their market value (AAV) where they've been done.

Trey Hendrickson $25,544,519 -- almost certainly gone unless they tag him again.

Joseph Ossai $15,267,585 -- keep I guess, but is there anyone better available?

Ted Karras $6,524,559 -- I think this is an error, the signed him to an extension last September.

Geno Stone $7,775,696 -- don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Joe Flacco $5,720,279 -- if he is willing to stay on as the No. 2, great, but I believe he said he wants to compete for a starting gig if he keeps playing.

Noah Fant $2,919,989 -- he was mostly fine, don't have a problem bringing him back at that level.

Cordell Volson -- don't care

Lucas Patrick -- don't care

Marco Wilson -- don't care

Cam Taylor-Britt $15,442,854 -- LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I wouldn't pay $0.15 much less $15m.

Dalton Risner $2,336,539 -- absolute must re-sign. Still need to draft a prospect but that's chump change for a starter or even quality backup.

Tanner Hudson -- don't care but apparently he's a favorite of Burrow's so whatever.

Cameron Sample -- don't care

Tycen Anderson -- sure, he's been a solid teams guy.

Amazing how fast the Brown family can sign guys to super low dollar deals.  Anybody who’s good?  Shit gets complicated.

The Brown family could cure cancer right now and I would find 7 things about the cure that are heinously fucked up.  Headline: Mike Brown just made cancer even worse.

Headline: cure for cancer has signed with the Atlanta Falcons. The Cincinnati Bengals have signed a half-bottle of extra-strength Tylenol to fill the hole.

And a tube of Hemorrhoid cream to go along with it!

Thank you Ted Karras, but buh bye.

Give me Linderbaum at Center while hurting a division rival and that would be pleasant to me.

After that, it’s slim pickin’s.
Better off looking at trades.

Top priorities, in no particular order

defensive players who know how to tackle

a pass rushing 3TDT

a big corner who can man cover the TE

a new OLT who can play swing tackle this year

a safety who can, uhm, play football?   like, at all?

a PR/KR who can stay healthy.  Sorry Mr Sizzle.

Geno Stone I want gone asap.  I volunteer to drive him to the airport myself

Just call it every position on the defensive side of the ball and that encapsulates my free agency and draft wishes.

DT, DE, LB, CB, Safety

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.

They could use players at each of those spots. I would rather a couple of veteran free agents brought in as to not have so many rookies, but that seems to be what we will see more than not.

FA: DE x2, LB

Assumes loss of Trey. Need two quality edge guys. At LB Knight and Carter got better as the year wore on but I'm not sold on them as "the* guys at LB. Maybe they take that sophomore leap, but maybe they don't and we need some talent in the room if they fail.

Draft: S, CB

I like Battle but I think I would like him more if we had a true center fielder out there. At corner the cupboard is pretty bare after Turner and Dax. If 10 is too high for a safety (it's not but the Bengals have never valued the position highly) give me Delane or McCoy.

DT? They've got Jenkins, Jackson, Hill, Slaton and they seem to want to play Stewart inside so I might be willing to let that pot keep bubbling. Only so much you can do in a single offseason.

CTB takes a detour on the way to free agency.

On Tuesday, we learned that Taylor-Britt will now be doing jail time for an incident that occurred in September, following the Bengals’ win vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Taylor-Britt was initially arrested for reckless driving and driving without a license following the Bengals’ home opener. He pled guilty, accepted the jail time, and can be seen in Chelsea Sick’s post walking away with crutches and a walking boot. He will serve five days behind bars.

Weak AF, Cam. Listen, you want to get your bad boy corner act on, you know who to call...

Dehner's FA preview:

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6951585/2026/01/08/bengals-free-agency-trey-hendrickson-2026/

His % chances of returning:

Hendrickson 1%

Ossai 20% (he thinks someone will offer him $10m+/year which the Bengals won't match)

Stone 15% (sure he stinks but he'll also be cheap AF)

CTB 20%

Fant 10%

Risner 75% (will notoriously cheap FO get him done before FA?)

Hudson 90%

Flacco 33%

Browning 8%

Volson 40%

Jalen Davis 90%

Tycen Anderson 55% (could get stolen by a team that actually cares about teams)

Marco Wilson 50%

Lucas Patrick 47%

Brian Asamoah 60%

The Bengals today signed free agent WR Dohnte Meyers.

Meyers (5-11, 186) has spent the past two seasons ('24-25) with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He played in 19 total games for the Roughriders, totaling 89 receptions for 1405 yards and nine TDs. He also returned 11 kickoffs for 319 yards (29.0 average), and had nine punt returns for 94 yards (10.4).

Meyers signed with Saskatchewan out of Delta State University after the Roughriders' 2023 season.

50% chance I return as a bengal fan next year:

the 50% chance I don’t return as a fan consists of the following:

5% chance I straight up die.

10% chance a bad accident leaves me more brain damaged than I already am.

5% chance I am aggressively recruited by another nfl team after that team reads incredibly incisive posts on bengalszone that reveal a depth of football knowledge that leaves the reader stunned.

5% chance I am awarded prestigious “NFL Message Board Fan of the Year” and I spend the ‘26 season traveling around the league spreading goodwill towards man.

5% chance Mesozoic Era Fossil/Life Form sells the team and new owner moves it to Orlando.

5% chance Troy finds out about me and Katie.  Shit gets real.

4% chance I randomly start hitting the ball like I’m 25 years old, never leave the golf course again.

10% chance a near death experience leaves me with a deepened sense of spirituality, a greater sense of purpose, and a profound oneness with the universe that I can only express to the outside world by becoming a fan of the Detroit Lions.

1% chance I just somehow come to my senses.
