Week 11: Bengals @ Steelers

Bengals come out of the weekend with the 9th overall pick, thanks to their SoS dropping to .506. However, 6-loss squads are being pushed out of the top 10. Everyone above Cincy now has at least 7 losses. While I have great confidence in the defense's ability to bring home that 7th L, Pitt also sucks and already lost to the Bengals once. They could screw this up...

Please no. This season is washed and the D isn't getting better. I know Burrow is a competitor and wants to come back, and Zac Taylor wants to save his job, but management and ownership need to save him from himself and get him right for next year and beyond. There is nothing to gain.

The defense so bad I’m not sure Jesus QB’ing the team could make up for the shit show that is this defense.

For anyone complaining about how poorly they draft, you need to be praying the keep losing to get a higher pick. They at least seem to do better then.

If its rushed comeback, I agree.   If he's healthy then and there's little risk to the initial injured area I think you have to let him play.    
 

If the organization is having thoughts of having to save a healthy Burrow from himself,  then its time to trade him.

Supposedly Burrow told Glazer he'd be back before Thanksgiving, according to Glazer.     So if that's the case its hard to bench Burrow in that circumstance.  

Sure if he was limping in December, like he was with his calf that's a different story.

Yeah I get they will let him play and don’t necessarily disagree. I just think it won’t matter. The defense is so completely dysfunctional it will take a consistent 38 points and even then it may not be enough.

The Bengals only real problems are the Ravens and Bills games with Burrow if they can sweep the Steelers. I truly do not know if Joe is going to allow Drake Maye to outdo him.

 

But Joe needs to save his legacy with the Bengals. If the Bengals can split with the Ravens and beat the Bills they could go 10-7 and have the division record tiebreaker. The Ravens will lose to the Packers or Steelers. And believe it or not, Vrabel has Lamar's number. Whose to say NE's defense can't beat Lamar? Lamar doesn't play with that high demeanor of not losing to a lesser QB that Joe does.

Probably the best game to judge the O-line.    Last game Pitt had an impressive streak of sacks in the games prior.   Bengals got the ball out quick and Pitt couldn't cover without committing a penalty.

Now up in Pitt, defense adjustments, maybe a defense favorable whistle will put more pressure on the line to protect, IMO.

That just it, Burrow doesn’t control shit when it comes to the defense resembling something from the 90’s.

He can look all pro when he returns and the odds that moves the needle in the defense playing better are next to nil.

Again, I think they play him.
I just don’t think it matters.
Optimism with this defense is Kool Aid drinking.

It's always good to see that the Cincinnati franchise has its priorities in order. Oh, sure, the product on the field might be crap, but the fans just keep coming and the Bengals are pulling out the stops to make sure that you can spend as much money as quickly and easily as possible while you enjoy missed tackles, blown coverages and Zac's weekly highlight reel of dumbfounded looks.

Very interested in seeing this kid play and I hope they let him play! He had more sacks last season than anyone the Bengals have drafted in years it seems. Just send him out and tell him to rush the passer

Zac should be accountable for the mounting 1 score losses, blown leads at home that have happened in games they were favored the past 3 seasons.   It really isn't worth listening to anybody that can't grasp this reality of the NFL.
