Risner definitely looked better there than at RG, but still had some ups and downs. I get the argument for continuity, though. Rivers I am less sold on. He's been better than Risner was there, but that's not exactly a high bar. I'd like to see Patrick again. Yea I still think Risner and Patrick should start would really like to see this in a game to see how it goes with two Vets out there. Quote

Bengals players have combined for 22 weekly honors (Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams) since the start of the 2021 season, the third-most in the NFL in that span.” Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 22 Report Posted October 22 I’m on board with Fairchild starting. In what I still FIRMLY believe is a lost season, what better time to get the rookie o-lineman, you know will be expected to man that post in 2026, to get snaps and experience? I still believe had the Bengals been more proactive and had Risner in camp earlier, he would look much better, but they waited. Honestly, I’d like to see more of that across the team. Get the young guys in and have a better evaluation of what they can do before next year gets here. Quote

With the AFC so wide open, is it really a lost season, if Flacco can keep getting these WR the ball, they actually start using the run game. I want to see the best o-lineman out there regardless if it’s Vet or rookie. All of that though is a BIG IF, with this defense. Find the guys that can actually tackle and play them, I mean they would have stops if they could just tackle. Like I said it’s all just a big if, and maybe it’s me just trying to enjoy the season and have a little bit of hope they can do something and keep it rolling, but who the heck knows anymore lol. Stripes Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 Beat the 0-7 Jets. Hopefully the Steelers lose to the Packers. They’d be half a game out of the division lead. We’ll see if Flacco continues to cook. If he sustains strong play, I don’t see why the Bengals can’t remain in the race. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 No Burrow = lost season. I want to enjoy and root for them still but I don’t have any inkling of an idea that this team is headed to the playoffs or more. Can it happen? Absolutely. Am I planning for it? Absolutely not. Go Bengals… Quote
Stripes Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 You could be right. Keeping expectations minimal is definitely the smarter play with this franchise. 1 Quote
AMPHAR Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 OBJ has looked better with Risner by his side? Small sample? Maybe. I would start him at LG until its warranted to replace. He was horrible at RG. Patrick used a IR return spot so I would expect a return to starting line up for him at some point. Although Rivers has looked competent at the spot. Patrick in his short sample looked nastier in the run game. Although Risner's turn around and everyone's turn around could be Flacco. Ball has been out or in the dirt and he's typically in the spot he should be. Real test for the O-line will be when Chase and Co. aren't coming open quickly and there will be a time the running game will need to carry Flacco. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 The fun part for me is that's it's enjoyable rooting for the old man to go out there and get the win. Seeing him lead the team to a win over the Steelers was exceptionally enjoyable to me. My optimism is that he has the ability to see things as a veteran QB and has talented WR's to throw to. However, I do not think there's enough optimism to get me thinking playoffs as I mentioned before. That being the case, I don't really care if they lose either. I will watch (maybe) and root for sure. I'm just not invested in 2025 and would be happy with a top 10 pick in the 2026 draft. I absolutely do not believe how a team finishes a season carries over into the next. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 WR Garrett Wilson CB Sauce Gardner Both will be out against the Bengals Sunday. Two big players for the Jets. Thinking Flacco and the WR’s have another above average outing. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 24 Author Report Posted October 24 Hendrickson questionable for Sunday, per Zac. Quote

I’d only get involved with that on the prop bet side of things. Like the O/U on how many trays of Golden Corral’s famous creamed corn Andre can demolish. Hint: take the under if it’s a Friday because the special that day is fried Mac and Cheese balls over Salisbury Steak, aka Andre Smith Crack. 1 Quote
Stripes Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 Lamar is officially OUT for Chicago. Go Bears. 1 Quote
Stripes Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 The Ravens are also being investigated by the league after changing Lamar's practice status from full to limited yesterday. Oops. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 26 Author Report Posted October 26 Taylor out (knee) so it’s back to Fields tomorrow. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 I’ll tell you the more I listen to Joe Flacco talk the more I really just like this guy, just a very down to earth guy. Oh and watching him talking to Whit and Ryan Fitzpatrick, and him talking about how he watched Anime, ok count me in man!!!! Freaking awesome! Quote
Stripes Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 I feel weird about this game. Hopefully it’s just gas. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 I’m really looking forward to watching the game today. Hope not to be let down. Quote
