It seems that Peppi was kind of jerking us around and signed with Washington, so we went out and signed a player that most think is better than Zellner. Just another example of the effect that Coach Lewis is having on this team. Now it up to Coach Hunley to get the most out of a talented young d-line. kevnz Posted May 14, 2003 Report Share Posted May 14, 2003 This signing is a prime example of the smart strategy that Marvin Lewis and the Bengals (say what you will, but Mike Brown still signs the checks) have used in Free agency. They haven't picked up the biggest names (and biggest payouts) but have done nothing but pick quality players. This is the exact same thing the Patriots started doing and won a Super Bowl doing. But the Bengals have done it even better. With all the additions that the Bengals have added, their biggest weakness last year (on the field anyways) should turn into a big time strength.
