Cutdown Day

And so it begins...

If they were on the roster then their salaries would be guaranteed for the full year. So either or both could be back.

Wouldn't mind either of these guys back as depth.  But I'd guess Gilberry will get picked up elsewhere pretty quickly, even if he doesn't get put on a roster.  Someone else will get him after week 1 or whenever their full season salary doesn't vest.

TJ will be less than thrilled to learn that Ross is out for a couple weeks with that knee strain.  Also Driskel broke 2 fingers, so Mega Tattooed Clipboard Jesus isn't going anywhere.

And our kicker is...Randy Bullock.

So the Bengals pass on the consensus number one kicker prospect in favor of Elliot. That guy goes in the seventh and wins a starting job. Bengals think they know better than everyone else and the result is a wasted fifth round pick.

Great job, as usual...

Schreck & Dielman going. Schreck has a mcl injury do will probably revert to IR.

So basically both our 5ths were trash. Great.

Apparently we get a 6...in 2019.

Fun fact: first trade Jerrah has ever done with Mikey.

Driskel will go on IR and Carter will get cut (and put on the PS if he clears waivers) to make room for Pacman and Burfict.

I'd be more excited about the dline if it included Hardison and Williams instead of Sims and MJ.

But anyhow, let's not bury the big news of the day: with today's cuts, the Bengals now have more than $19 million in unused cap space.

Josh Shaw looked good against the nobodies that Indy ran out there in game 4.  Cautious optimism.

Wasted/cut draft picks starting to really pile-up over last few years it seems, more than there should be any ways.

Yeah, it's getting a little iffy. Draft is a crap shoot and they're close to crapping out.

Brandon Wilson not making the 53 is a surprise.  I guess he was basically hurt until the end so here's hoping he gets to the p squad.  If you watch the 3rd quarter right before the Colts fumbled it away, he laid out a running back who was on route for a touchdown.  He also made a pretty great boundary defense on a pass.  He had devastating speed and power.  That dude should be the new Peerman and get a few snaps on D.

Diehlman must have disappointed to not beat out either Redmond, Westerman or Hopkins.   I still think Fat Dre gets his shot on quite a few plays if not start at some point.  But against  what I just said, I saw Fisher smoke a guy and drive him completely out of bounds so he's gotten stronger.

Brandon Bell looked good against other guys who were going to cut.  Nickerson did as well.  But he got destroyed by a G and showed hes short and can be driven literally down into the ground by a 6 10 guy.

Pat Sims is a fat unstoppable force.  I really respect him.  He is the best fat guy DT we have had.  I know he's stronger than Hercules but he has got a little belly on him.

Anyone see the Cardinals dump OG Dorian Johnson ?? That's a guy I'd like to see them pick up instead of him getting back to their practice squad.

Yeah former 4th rounder projected to start by scouts.  He could replace Redmond
