Bengals @ Ravens Game Thread

I know, I know, it's day 1 of camp and I'm starting a week 1 thread. But there's news anyhow: per pft, Ray Rice will be suspended weeks 1 & 2 for cold-cocking his future wife in a casino elevator.

So the Ravens won't have Rice for the game. :sure:/>

(And yeah, 2 games? Freakin' joke.)

Yeah, I saw that with Rice as well and my first thought was, "2 games" ?? Didn't Lane Johnson just get 4 games for taking prescribed medicine ??

Unreal if that reported 2 games is accurate. I was expecting to see at least 4 and as many as 6 knowing there would be an appeal.

Rice not being there week one against us is certainly going to happen, but they have capable backs.

My bigger concern is seeing the Bengals come out in week one on the road and not look like it's week two of the preseason.

They seem to do this year in and year out and it's God awful irritating for sure.

Aren't the Ravens dedicating stabby's statue prior to the game ??

They will be all amped up about that as well.

The Bengals are more than capable of going into Baltimore and winning that game, but will they ??

I still say a huge confidence/momentum key is go to their house and win game one, and win the first prime time game against the Patriots. (Two situations where they have stumbled in the past)

+1. Drives me up the wall. Last year was the most frustrating example yet: they finally came out of the gate strong, yet because of poor ball security and a stupid, stupid, stupid penalty by First Name Rey, they lose.

The opening day irritations aside, I also wonder about the prime time games.

I'm curious how much Marvin's much noted opinion about his dislike for prime time games plays into things ??

I know he's not the one out on the field, but I wonder if there's an impact in regards to preparation ??

Maybe not at all related, but it was just something I thought about.

What's funny is if Ray Rice were totally stoned out of his gourd, he might not have slapped his fiancee.

That is pretty funny.

He might have assaulted a bag of Dorito's, but at least he wouldn't have to explain dragging the empty bag out of an elevator.

Him getting 2 games is just beyond ridiculous. I don't care how anyone wants to look at that.

Prepping fans when nothing happens to Irsay for sure.

Surely ...... SURELY ....the law of averages say we gotta hit the ground running in one season ....even if it's by luck/accident/design or divine intervention !!

IF we can get an opening day W we have a chance to build on that confidence and go to the early bye week at 3-0

..... lose the opener and it makes Atlanta in wk 2 a different proposition i think - pressure to get back on track and a home opener. Would much rather have a win under our belt as we open at PBS (obviously) and build on the confidence that success brings.

WHODEY !!

Ravens lose their fourth round pick for the season. They were hoping he could contribute to the d-line rotation this year.

Tough break for the kid.
