Draft Grades

Recommended Posts

Since I drafted from a phone, I couldn’t share the smack talk or enjoy the side comments. Therefore, I thought I’d run my own draft grades article.Feel free to respond….

The TOP CAT DIVISION, teams 1 - 3

Pink Taco Munchers

1. (1) Chris Johnson (Ten - RB)

2. (24) Pierre Thomas (NO - RB)

3. (25) Larry Fitzgerald (Ari - WR)

4. (48) Ronnie Brown (Mia - RB)

5. (49) Dwayne Bowe (KC - WR)

6. (72) Brent Celek (Phi - TE)

7. (73) Kevin Kolb (Phi - QB)

8. (96) Baltimore (Bal - DEF)

9. (97) Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K)

10. (120) Laurence Maroney (NE - RB)

11. (121) Devin Aromashodu (Chi - WR)

12. (144) Steve Slaton (Hou - RB)

13. (145) Chris Cooley (Was - TE)

14. (168) Josh Johnson (TB - QB)

15. (169) Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ - WR)

Did Yahoo pick for the P-T Eaters? First 7 picks great, then grabbed Baltimore “D” early, then really reached for a kicker in round 9. Overall a very solid team. Will contend for division if CJ performs and Kolb surprises.

Expendables

1. (2) Adrian Peterson (Min - RB)

2. (23) Ryan Grant (GB - RB)

3. (26) DeSean Jackson (Phi - WR)

4. (47) Carson Palmer (Cin - QB)

5. (50) Sidney Rice (Min - WR)

6. (71) Tony Gonzalez (Atl - TE)

7. (74) Santana Moss (Was - WR)

8. (95) Philadelphia (Phi - DEF)

9. (98) Garrett Hartley (NO - K)

10. (119) Fred Jackson (Buf - RB)

11. (122) Donovan McNabb (Was - QB)

12. (143) Kenny Britt (Ten - WR)

13. (146) Braylon Edwards (NYJ - WR)

14. (167) Ted Ginn Jr. (SF - WR)

15. (170) New England (NE - DEF)

I think Yahoo picked for Expendables too. He grabbed 3 quality players, then reached for Palmer in 4th, a one-legged Rice in 5th, a “D” and PK in 8th and 9th, and chased WRs the rest of the draft. I predict a 3rd place finish in the division.

Havoc

1. (3) Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)

2. (22) Steven Jackson (StL - RB)

3. (27) Greg Jennings (GB - WR)

4. (46) Beanie Wells (Ari - RB)

5. (51) Vernon Davis (SF - TE)

6. (70) Pierre Garcon (Ind - WR)

7. (75) Jay Cutler (Chi - QB)

8. (94) Felix Jones (Dal - RB)

9. (99) Matthew Stafford (Det - QB)

10. (118) Santonio Holmes (NYJ - WR)

11. (123) Tim Hightower (Ari - RB)

12. (142) Chad Henne (Mia - QB)

13. (147) Miami (Mia - DEF)

14. (166) Larry Johnson (Was - RB)

15. (171) Dan Carpenter (Mia - K)

Havoc went for some major medical risks – S-Jax, Wells, VD, Cutler, LJ, etc. With some great picks in the middle (F. Jones, Stafford, Holmes, Hightower, Henne), Havoc’s my favorite TOP CAT. What in the Hell’s with all the “H”s?

SLOPPY SECONDS DIVISION

Feline Felons

1. (4) Aaron Rodgers (GB - QB)

2. (21) Miles Austin (Dal - WR)

3. (28) Arian Foster (Hou - RB)

4. (45) Jermichael Finley (GB - TE)

5. (52) Knowshon Moreno (Den - RB)

6. (69) Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB)

7. (76) Terrell Owens (Cin - WR)

8. (93) Green Bay (GB - DEF)

9. (100) Nate Kaeding (SD - K)

10. (117) New Orleans (NO - DEF)

11. (124) Bernard Berrian (Min - WR)

12. (141) Jabar Gaffney (Den - WR)

13. (148) David Akers (Phi - K)

14. (165) Fred Taylor (NE - RB)

15. (172) Dustin Keller (NYJ - TE)

A QB, any QB, as the 4th overall is a gutsy move. Unfortunately, that means your chasing RB and WR all day. Lucked out with Austin in the 2nd, but Foster & Moreno as your top 2 RBs and TO as your number 2 WR is a stretch. The “D” & PK in 8th & 9th made it worse. Been reading Walter’s again?

Skyline Chilis

1. (5) Maurice Jones-Drew (Jac - RB)

2. (20) Roddy White (Atl - WR)

3. (29) Jamaal Charles (KC - RB)

4. (44) Philip Rivers (SD - QB)

5. (53) Hines Ward (Pit - WR)

6. (68) Marion Barber (Dal - RB)

7. (77) Donald Driver (GB - WR)

8. (92) Eli Manning (NYG - QB)

9. (101) Robert Meachem (NO - WR)

10. (116) Owen Daniels (Hou - TE)

11. (125) Austin Collie (Ind - WR)

12. (140) Jermaine Gresham (Cin - TE)

13. (149) Willis McGahee (Bal - RB)

14. (164) Matt Prater (Den - K)

15. (173) Arizona (Ari - DEF)

If MJD performs and Rivers doesn’t miss V-Jax, this is best team in the conference. Any team with Whines Hard on it should be penalized 10 points a week.

The Bouncing TaTa's

1. (6) Shonn Greene (NYJ - RB)

2. (19) Cedric Benson (Cin - RB)

3. (30) Marques Colston (NO - WR)

4. (43) Percy Harvin (Min - WR)

5. (54) Malcom Floyd (SD - WR)

6. (67) Joe Flacco (Bal - QB)

7. (78) Heath Miller (Pit - TE)

8. (91) Pittsburgh (Pit - DEF)

9. (102) Jerome Harrison (Cle - RB)

10. (115) Carnell Williams (TB - RB)

11. (126) Vincent Jackson (SD - WR)

12. (139) Alex Smith (SF - QB)

13. (150) Golden Tate (Sea - WR)

14. (163) Mario Manningham (NYG - WR)

15. (174) Lawrence Tynes (NYG - K)

Great team name, solid WR corp, good QB duo of Flacco – A.Smith…what’s not to like? How about a trio of RB’s (Shonne , Cedric, Cadillac) with about 7 career receptions combined. This is a PPR league, right?

TURDS DIVISION

Danimals Animals

1. (7) Ray Rice (Bal - RB)

2. (18) DeAngelo Williams (Car - RB)

3. (31) Jahvid Best (Det - RB)

4. (42) Anquan Boldin (Bal - WR)

5. (55) Brett Favre (Min - QB)

6. (66) Hakeem Nicks (NYG - WR)

7. (79) Kellen Winslow (TB - TE)

8. (90) Minnesota (Min - DEF)

9. (103) Mason Crosby (GB - K)

10. (114) Michael Bush (Oak - RB)

11. (127) Donald Brown (Ind - RB)

12. (138) John Carlson (Sea - TE)

13. (151) Eddie Royal (Den - WR)

14. (162) Vince Young (Ten - QB)

15. (175) Rian Lindell (Buf - K)

Best RB’s of any team in the league, and it’s not even close. Unfortunately, you can only play 3 at a time. If Favre gets hurt, or when brittle Boldin goes down, the Animals will be in trouble.

Child Please!!!

1. (8) Frank Gore (SF - RB)

2. (17) Calvin Johnson (Det - WR)

3. (32) Tony Romo (Dal - QB)

4. (41) Steve Smith (NYG - WR)

5. (56) Joseph Addai (Ind - RB)

6. (65) Jason Witten (Dal - TE)

7. (80) Mike Wallace (Pit - WR)

8. (89) Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)

9. (104) T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Bal - WR)

10. (113) Justin Forsett (Sea - RB)

11. (128) Demaryius Thomas (Den - WR)

12. (137) New York (NYG - DEF)

13. (152) Chester Taylor (Chi - RB)

14. (161) San Diego (SD - DEF)

15. (176) Sebastian Janikowski (Oak - K)

Child Please to you too! Great team, lots of value picks, favorite to win the TURDS division. Maybe Houshmandzadeh does spell Championship? Or was that just a stupid move?

Sporrans from hell

1. (9) Michael Turner (Atl - RB)

2. (16) Brandon Marshall (Mia - WR)

3. (33) Matt Schaub (Hou - QB)

4. (40) Antonio Gates (SD - TE)

5. (57) Michael Crabtree (SF - WR)

6. (64) Matt Forte (Chi - RB)

7. (81) New York (NYJ - DEF)

8. (88) Rob Bironas (Ten - K)

9. (105) Derrick Mason (Bal - WR)

10. (112) Brandon Jacobs (NYG - RB)

11. (129) Ryan Longwell (Min - K)

12. (136) Devin Hester (Chi - WR)

13. (153) Mohamed Massaquoi (Cle - WR)

14. (160) Kyle Orton (Den - QB)

15. (177) Marcedes Lewis (Jac - TE)

Ah, Laddie, where did your Mums and I go astray? Actually, this is a pretty good team, and he kept stealing players I targeted (Schaub, Crabtree, Mason). Who in the hell has 2 kickers on their team?

LAST ‘n’ LEAST DIVISION

DesperateDerelicts

1. (10) Randy Moss (NE - WR)

2. (15) Ryan Mathews (SD - RB)

3. (34) LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB)

4. (39) Tom Brady (NE - QB)

5. (58) Jeremy Maclin (Phi - WR)

6. (63) Wes Welker (NE - WR)

7. (82) Reggie Bush (NO - RB)

8. (87) Johnny Knox (Chi - WR)

9. (106) Clinton Portis (Was - RB)

10. (111) Zach Miller (Oak - TE)

11. (130) Darren Sproles (SD - RB)

12. (135) Dallas (Dal - DEF)

13. (154) Dexter McCluster (KC - WR,RB)

14. (159) Mike Williams (TB - WR)

15. (178) David Buehler (Dal - K)

Should we bother to play the season, or do you want to hand me the trophy now? If the Pats have a tough week, I’ll probably have a tough week (Moss – Brady – sometimes Welker).

Wraith's Winners

1. (11) Drew Brees (NO - QB)

2. (14) Rashard Mendenhall (Pit - RB)

3. (35) Chad Ochocinco (Cin - WR)

4. (38) Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB)

5. (59) C.J. Spiller (Buf - RB)

6. (62) Mike Sims-Walker (Jac - WR)

7. (83) Visanthe Shiancoe (Min - TE)

8. (86) Cincinnati (Cin - DEF)

9. (107) Anthony Gonzalez (Ind - WR)

10. (110) Lee Evans (Buf - WR)

11. (131) Kevin Smith (Det - RB)

12. (134) Sam Bradford (StL - QB)

13. (155) Jeremy Shockey (NO - TE)

14. (158) Adam Vinatieri (Ind - K)

15. (179) Joshua Cribbs (Cle - WR)

It looks like Wraith went Homer on us (that’s with an ‘e’ and an ‘r’), grabbing Ocho in the 3rd and Bengals “D” in the 8th. However, his top RB is a Squeeler, has no o-line, and will get killed the first 4 weeks of the season. Mr Waiver Wire will be at it again

Weaponized Again

1. (12) Peyton Manning (Ind - QB)

2. (13) Reggie Wayne (Ind - WR)

3. (36) Steve Smith (Car - WR)

4. (37) Dallas Clark (Ind - TE)

5. (60) Thomas Jones (KC - RB)

6. (61) Ricky Williams (Mia - RB)

7. (84) San Francisco (SF - DEF)

8. (85) Dez Bryant (Dal - WR)

9. (108) Jacoby Jones (Hou - WR)

10. (109) LaDainian Tomlinson (NYJ - RB)

11. (132) Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB)

12. (133) Steve Breaston (Ari - WR)

13. (156) Greg Olsen (Chi - TE)

14. (157) Patrick Crayton (SD - WR)

15. (180) Jeff Reed (Pit - K)

Weaponized joined the Colts this year. If Manning-Wayne-Clark falter, he’s got crap behind them. Is Ricky Williams still in the league? Patrick Crayton? Take away rookie Dez Bryant, average age is about 43. How about Weaponized Alzheimers?
