Broncos @ Bengals

Leon Hall wanted credit for a deflection stat so he popped the ball up in the air on pass coverage instead of getting out of the way. Selfish, dumb football played by a selfish, dumb player. This will be laughed off by the inept coaches and management as a fluke, but it is a microcosm for everything wrong with that organization. This kind of bulls**t happens over and over. I haven't given a s**t in years, after the year they had more arrests than wins but Hard Knocks roped me back in. I won't be making that mistake again. Sign some players who aren't me first retards.

Are you seriously going to blame Leon Hall for tipping the ball? The guy was making a play on a pass and it just so happened that Stokley got lucky and was in the right spot at the right time. Your a f**king idiot

I see you registered for the board on February 6, 2006. So I must ask, when exactly is "Next Season" going to occur? I hear it's our year. Clearly you've got a long term plan in place, I see big things in 2023.

Had you not had more than 4 posts on here you Moron you would know that I changed my name in the offseason. This is the last I am saying to you because your a f**king moron

Funny that anyone would try to blame the 2 minute defense. That was like the immaculate reception. Miracles happen.

The Bengals didn't lose this game in the last minute. They lost it in the first 3 quarters with absolutely no poise on offense.

Absolutely. Broncos put up 12 points. Hell, give them 13 for a normal point after. Last year's Ryan Fitzpatrick-led 32nd in the NFL offense managed 13 points a game on average.

I put this L 100% on the offense.

Teams win by playing badly all the time. Think the Ravens are pleased that they gave up 24 pts to the lowly Chiefs and barely won that game? Bengal teams never win games in which they play badly. Never

Did you watch the game today? Maybe your user name is referring to the 10-11 season.

Speechless. Our luck is terrible. Offensive playcalling was garbage until the last drive I just don't understand it. No huddle should've been employed more often. Anthony Collins isn't the answer at RT. Just a bad day, but I still have faith in this team. The defense was great today. Playcalling offensively just was abysmal.

Problems.

1. No TJ: I really think this was just a bad game for Coles but his two drops killed two drives. He is a real professional player, and drops like those were not on bad passes, so he should overcome it. With Caldwell taking 6 passes, he stepped up for sure and Henry should be getting more that 1 or two his way in the gameplan...which moves me to point #2.

2. Playcalling: Brat had some new looks, I really liked the OT wishbone with benson getting the big run, but there were still many of the same, terrible playcalls and execution that killed momentum in this game. 5-15 on 3rd down will not cut it. 4 of the first 6 3rd downs they faced, Brat called Coles number. 1 was complete and converted, 2 were drops, the other was a bad pass. Benson ran for one, one was the INT off the Chad tip, Coates converted, and Henry converted. In this mix, we saw one play that featured Scott, only a couple for Leonard.

3. O-Line: They were better than last year, however, there were serious issues with consistency. I though Bobbie Willams played a sub-par game and Collins makes me nervous.

4. Brad St. Lamesnap: Cost the game. If you are a specialist player, you've got ot be perfect. He is snakebit aainst the Broncos. Cost the Playoffs in 07 and a win today.

Obviously, this is a truly "bad luck" situation, so I cannot overly complain as the D really did play an elite game. I hope they use this to fuel some anger.

Bengal fan for over 20 years living in the UK and I will try to keep my first post here sensible.

Another hard luck sorry or the same old ? whatever it was it was hard to take watching this on the stream and it's about as bad as Ihave felt following this team.

Our offense was not good and I expected that with Palmer not seeing any real pre season action he would be a little rusty. Ochocinco apart Palmer was not helped by too many dropped passes particularly from Coles. Brats play calling was what I expected of him sadly.

Defense was fine - can't blame them for the touchdown - though I would still like more pressure on quarterback but perhaps that will come as the OL is the only thing the Broncos have going for them.

Special Teams was well "special" again with that field goal screw up.

It's up to the coaches to lift the team which after the manner of this loss will be very difficult indeed with an explosive Packer offense to face next week.

Just wanted to second the Bobbie Williams note. I know Collins makes you and many nervous but I'm not sure the guy next to him isn't done. BW didn't look good in preseason and didn't look good today.

Caldwell's better in the slot than Coles.

There, I said it.

Coles keeps dropping passes from Palmer and he will get himself benched. Palmer has high standards, as we saw on Hardknocks, and Caldwell and he were in synch today. Very surprised Henry only got a few looks.

Gotta go to GB and f-ing light it up. Get freaking pissed and go off.

Somebody PLEASE tell me they did not call a timeout on the 1 inch line. The fact that Caldwell did not get in was actually a good thing. They had a chance to burn some clock Fouts initially said they called a timeout. That is why they did not start the play clock after the review.

Bungle Boobery. This crap only happens to crappy organizations.

They called a time out?

Fouts said right away that the Bengals called a timeout to give the booth a chance to review the play. I believe the holdup was whether or not they were going to charge them with the timeout. The fact that they did, meant that they did not let the 18 second runoff before the Benson touchdown. If that is the case, that is pathetic. Why not burn some clock? If you can't score on one of four plays from the flipping 1 inch line, you don't deserve to win anyway. Marvin Lewis is the NFL version of Stan Van Gundy. The master of panic...

The good news is that Palmer did lead a 91 yard drive to take the lead. The D was hitting and did a pretty good job. This game shoul have been won by at least 14 pts. This offense has looked like crap all preseason with the same story of alot of yards and then penalties and turnovers making a difference. Can they get that in line? I have no idea. They better though.I still believe we can win the division, but Pitt wins these types of games. Next week will be interesting. If I had to pick between losing on this fluke or Palmer NOT being able to lead the team to a TD. I'd take the fluke.

Just got back from the game:

1. Bengals fans suck. No heart cant even cheer when on defense. Getting hot dog seems more important. Its embarrassing. This was like 5 minutes into the game. Weak. (Club section never filled up at all) Weak

2. Brat is terrible. Scott played one play.

3. Coles choked big time. Huge dissappointment.

4. Why no review on interception on second to last play. They took 5 minutes to get clock right but didnt want to review the play?

Defense failed. Offense failed. Special teams failed. Marvin failed. Brat failed. Zimmer failed.

MB just lost a ton of money and there will only be one more game sold out. After that no more watchy for local fans.

Ouch, these little things all add up I guess. We have to learn not to beat ourselves before worrying about beating other teams it seems.

I don't think he panics, I think he just does not understand how to manage the game. He lost the challenge and was charged a timeout. They ran the one play and punched it in.

They executed a perfect final drive and left 41 seconds. Not really much to complain about. It was really just a bad break at the end.

It was the other, early mistakes that put them in this position. No excuse for the flubbed snap. No excuse for Coles drops. Or CHad's hold that erased a 14 yrd run, thus killing a strong drive early on.

Simply put, they just lost a game they should have won. They were the better team on the field but could not finish an inferior opponent due to mental errors and poor coaching.

You know...I'm tired of the excuses, I'm tired of the losing. It's all a batch of s**t. If they can't beat this Broncos team on opening weekend at home who are they going to beat? 0-16 is my preditiction.

Indeed. Even with all the other cock ups. All that needed to be done was for the FG to be converted. If that happens, all the other FUBARS included, Denver need a TD with 41 seconds left and 85 yds to go. Far differen to just needing to get into FG position to win the game.

Such a frustrating way to start the season. [uber optimist]This might just light a fire under their asses.[/uber optimist]
