you can bet that Dallas ,the Ravens and any team that needs a WR will go after him.

The likelyhood of Henry ever playing again is slim. We wouldn't have gotten jack outa him. You really think anyone outside of Oakland would've traded anything for a guy on borrowed time? Doubtful.

Oh and good f'ing riddance.

Sure the guy had first round trade value for at least 2 years. Who wouldn't want a double threat to either score a touchdown or break a corners jaw?

Bengals are in an awful pickle aren't they? Someone correct me, but didn't Chad fall because of "character" concerns?

Remember how the offense struggled last year without Henry? Now Carson can imagine its October, some game somewhere, its 3rd and 15. He lines up and sees TJ with a shutdown corner facing him. Utech with an outside LB and a safety waiting for one or the other. Some rookie WR is the #2 wideout and he has two guys waiting too.

Bengals will need two drafts to recover from what Henry and Chad have done.

Right -- so if Chad reverses his stance (again) on holding out, he arguably has more leverage.

Agreed. Chad has immediately moved from being a player with no leverage whatsoever to a player who has almost no leverage. It's not much, but it'll probably be enough to spark yet another round of incoherent douchbaggery.

Not that it would matter, it will almost certainly be a cold day in hell before the Bengals give him a new deal.

Well, I think Chad's three month long rant is a result of him coming to grips with the Bengals refusal to give him more money, and once he realized his demands were falling on deaf ears he decided his only remaining move was to set fire to all of Cincinnati's bridges.

But he could make things way uglier than they would have been otherwise.

Hostilities were already escalating before news of Henry's latest meltdown had hit the airwaves. The one thing that struck me about his latest interview on ESPN is the complete and total lack of joking from Chad....leading me to believe Chad didn't like any of the things Marvin Lewis has said recently. I for one liked the fact that the goofy grin had finally been slapped from his face, and furthermore...I think things have to get uglier before they get better.

The problem last year was they were a passing team. They will be a run 1st team this season and the draft will prove that. They had to throw so much last season because they couldn't run. Wishbone time is here baby. Ellis hopefully will be #1. Ray Rice will be in the 2nd.

<_< Whats everyones guess as to how long it takes for him to be picked up ??? and with who ????

My guess is the Cincinnati PD then the county prosecutor....

No team is picking him up...

Not unless he's willing to play for free.

He spent these past few years making it crystal clear to everyone that he is trouble and he is un-reformable.

The Bengals today waived WR Chris Henry.

Bengals president Mike Brown issued the following statement:

"Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.

"The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the same time we tried to help a young man.

"But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team."

WTF I just dont get it, any other team would have traded him ,now the Bengals get nothing out of him you can bet that Dallas ,the Ravens and any team that needs a WR will go after him.

Everybody that thinks its such a great idea to take a risk on the character problems its time to rethink.

I was one of the only guys that hated it when the Bengals drafted him because I saw his antics at WVU.

I think that Henry has some mental problems .

Having majored in psychology I know that people that are not right in the head often self medicate and I think that is why he is always drinking.

I know that when I went to Bengals Traing Camp I watched Henry sit on a cooler while all the rest of the guys were standing on the sidelines talking to eachother, laughing, I dont think I saw him talk to another player(or smile) the whole day.He just had a blank stare the whole time.It said to me that he felt inferior or better than everyone else and had trouble even talking to his teamates.

I think that he is the kind of person that drinks or gets high in order to feel normal.

At any rate, what he is accused of looks like a minor thing that would result in a fine.

I think that Marvin is just fed up and he may have had a call from the commish' saying that Henry is done .

Either way its sad because,Henry has talent , I just wish we could have got something out of him.

This surely puts the Bengals in bad spot as far as the draft goes.

Nobody would trade for Henry because, frankly, I think the assumption is that Goodell sits him for at least a year and possibly longer. No trade value there.

And to think, nearly a year to the day (4/10/07) he was suspended for the first half of the season, I thought the commish was too hard on him because he had kept himself clean for nearly a year. I've got a new inductee to go next to my Akili Smith, Maurice Clarrett and Ryan Leaf jerseys.

Adam and Soly were talking about the Bengals for hours this morning on Sirius NFL radio. Willie and Peko also came on to talk about Chad and Chris. Basically Willie blasted Chad and Chris, in a round-a-bout way.

And to whoever said it, you're right. Thank god this was before the draft.

From espn.com

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3327235

"Are you sure? Man, they can't let him go. That dude is good. He's very, very good," Johnson said on 1050 ESPN New York.

"We need him. Those are not easy shoes to fill, regardless of the trouble he has gotten into in the past," Johnson said.

Apparently, 85 moans about not being an off-the-field problem, then moans about getting rid of off-the-field problems.

And the Chris Henry era comes to an end.

My God I don't know how this team is going to be any good next year, they need to make some moves.

As long as we have Carson, we'll be fine. Chad, TJ or Chris do not make Carson better. He's the real deal and the leader of this franchise.

The release of Henry could be monumental for the Bengals... Maybe now, the players will get behind Marvin the the ownership and take them more seriously. Its been going on for too long, all the problems, the drama, ect. Chad, if you don't want to play, f**k you, retire. It just never ends here in Bengaldom, that's why I turn my head. I could care-less, I just want to see them play football.

Henry, you were a great player and it was good to know you, but your no longer a Bengal so f**k off. Some people never learn, I thought you would. I was wrong, again... The conversations were nice, I had your back, but you let me down. I've removed you from my myspace page. You let us down Chris, you let the team down and more so you let yourself and your family down. Good luck with the baby, you should be able to get a job up there in Canada somewhere.

At the VERY LEAST this sends a loud and clear message to one Odell Thurman.

The Turds at PFT said that Peko and C. Perry was out with C Henry the night before and got escorted out of a club. I find this to be total BS but i thought i would pass on the link:

http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/

Don't know if it was those two exactly but channel 9 reported on the 12 o'clock news today that Henry WAS out at some club (I forgot the name) the night before with "fellow" Bengal players and caused some kind of damage to the VIP room. No charges are being pressed though.
