I liked the story of the minor league baseball team handing out flip flops in honor of Favre. He's ruining his image and, in my opinion, has it coming.

Make up your mind already... Please don't give me any crap about he's a legend and can take his time... I call BS !!!

WHODEY !!!

If this does happen I expect ESPN to launch the ESPN-4 channel which will be dedicated to all things Favre.

Was thinking of this the other day - just create your own Favre channel so people who actually GIVE A RAT'S ASS about "Mr. just wants to play the game because he's like a kid out there and can make things happen" can watch it 24/7. Otherwise, spare more of this moronic, over-hyped nonsense about a QB who was TERRIBLE for 3 years before last season, and benefited from playing in a bad division again.

I wish he'd just retire and go away already, it wouldn't be so bad if the ESPN dorks didn't worship him to death. Can you imagine the back room ass grabs he'd get if he ever becomes an announcer there? Good God.

I wish he would go away.

What, you mean you aren't quivering in anticipation of our first preseason game, Monday night against Green Bay?

Remember the Atlanta preseason game last year? All Vick all the time? Get ready for another game best watched on mute...

Anyhow, on a lighter note:

Quivering? No. Wishing he would just stay retired and stop tarnishing his legacy? Yes.

Last night Packer's Coach Mike McCarthy and Favre had a long meeting. The end result was Favre leaving the facility and a likely trade. Their conversation last night went something like this:

McCarthy: "Brett, we're ready to let you compete for the job. Are you ready to get out and practice?"

Brett Favre: "Well, I'd like to be the starter. I think I've earned that already, don't you? So I'm ready to play, but training camp? Not happening."

McCarthy: "Well, with your years of experience, we could wait until the second exhitibition game. How'd you like to play the second quarter?"

Brett Favre: "Exhibition games? Is that what you think I'm worth? I'm not here for exhibitions."

McCarthy: "Damn! You're a hell of a poker player Favre! OK. You don't have to practice or do film study, just show up on gameday and you're the starter."

Brett Favre: "Damn right I'm the starter. But to actually play in games? That's a mental committment I'm not sure I'm ready to make."

McCarthy: "Wait, I don't get it. You want to start for us, but you don't actually want to play in games? How am I supposed to run an offense?"

Brett Favre: (squinting off into the distance, talks in a badass Clint Eastwood whisper) "They call me the gunslinger."

McCarthy: "Yes, I know that, the gunslinger. We all know that term. But you can't be the starter if you don't plan to play. Will you play or not?"

Brett Favre: "Yes. I mean no. Wait, yes. (Long pause) (Squints into distance, readopts whisper) "They call me the gunslinger."

McCarthy: "Right. Ted! Get the dumbest general manager you can think of on the phone right NOW! Brett, it's been great talking with you again. Please have that hayseed down in Mississippi that plays your agent give me a call. (Escorts Favre to door, gently pushes him out).

Brett Favre: "TWO, FORTY TWO, DOWN, BLAZE, BLAZE, SET, HUT, HUT, HUT!"

Some of you here know how much I hate Favre. Yesterday's coverage made me want to puke. Then I realized Sapp retired yesterday also, (great move by Drew Rosanhous,LOL), then I realized the two people I can't stand in the NFL will be giving their Hall of Fame induction speeches at the same damn time.UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.

5 years from now there will actually be a preseason game I won't watch because of this.

Sweet now I just won't be able to stand watching Monday Nights preseason opener
