1. You think Porter would fake an injury just to avoid playing the bengals! (To quote him: "I'm tired of kicking your ass! Y'all make me tired!" Yeah, definitely seems like he's afraid of the Bengals)

So half a sack in 5 games is kicking our ass? Levi > Porter and soon willie > porter

People aren't banned to the Smack Forum here because their opinion differs from the Bengals fan norm. They're banned to the Smack Forum because they annoy us with terms like "Bungles." Sure, we as mods are more lenient with the Bengals fans... it's a Bengals website after all.

If one of us were on a Steelers site squealing about "Stoolers" or "Chumpionships" or "Fluke" it would inspire the same irritation on your end. It's all stupid.

You've proven you're capable of handling yourself in a respectable manner, so nobody has seen fit to give you the troll tag. We just ask you keep it that way.

Yeah, I see your point. I guess I did say "bungles" a little too much. I will try to keep that just in the Smack forum. If that's the only problem, I'll go back and edit those posts.

... and that was my point. All is well.

I have almost zero interest in this story or any other that involves a couple of blinged millionaires spending their leasure time by getting in a slap fight at a casino.

What I did find funny was yesterdays Dan Patrick show on ESPN Radio where Patrick and Olberman speculated that Porter probably lost his cool due to 'roid rage. Patrick joked that it was perfectly reasonable to assume that any and every Steeler player used steroids. Quite frankly I agree, but Olberman objected by saying there was no hard proof that Porter was on steroids and suggested that it was far more likely that he was just a garden variety idiot.

Patrick quickly countered by pointing out the high number of Steeler players who had died from internal organ failures said to be a result of steroid use...suggesting Steeler players used steroids more than any other football team, if not any other group of athletes. Olberman countered by claiming professional wrestlers probably used steroids as often as Steeler players, and backed up his claim by pointing to the high number of professional wrestlers who had also died young. The two then spent several minutes discussing how much Steeler players and professional wrestlers were alike.

Finally, Patrick realized that their joking had moved from wondering how much of an idiot Joey Porter might be to mocking the streroid related deaths of almost two dozen Steeler players and a handful of professional wrestlers. Olberman agreed that making fun of dead people was dangerous ground and should be avoided if possible. They laughingly broke for commercial and said no more on the subject when they returned.

Good stuff.

Levi should bring a civil suit against Porter for 64 million dollars, f**k that punk Porter. Isn't he the same guy who was too cool to take off his sun glasses when they met the President, he's an immature thug who has no business in the NFL, he's washed up.

When Goodell takes out the trash(Pacman) he needs to include Porter in the heap, he's a waste of a uniform. I bet you Porter is injured when we play the Dolphins.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

1. You think Porter would fake an injury just to avoid playing the bengals! (To quote him: "I'm tired of kicking your ass! Y'all make me tired!" Yeah, definitely seems like he's afraid of the Bengals)

2. You are actually retarded or just blinded by our rivalry enough to think Porter is anywhere close to Pacman Jones. Pacman has had MULTIPLE run ins with the law. Porter has had 1. This one. And this was just a fight, as opposed to say, starting a brawl in a strip club and having one of your friends/bodyguards shoot somebody. It's so ridiculous how people try to lump Porter in with the "bad guys". He's not a cancer like TO, he's not a lazy selfish ass like Randy Moss, he's not a criminal like Chris Henry or a number of other guys on the Bengals. He has dogs that attacked a horse once. He's said some controversial things, some of which were in jest, some serious. And now he got in a fight. OOohhh, he's so terrible! It's like at the SB, when the media was desperate for Porter to say something and always went to talk to him expecting him to say something, because they thought he was like the typical "bad guy", and were dissapointed when he didn't say anything untill the Jerramy Stevens thing. As Michael Smith said yesterday on Sportscenter, if this was any other time in the NFL, this wouldn't even be a story. But with all the bad publicity from guys like Pacman, Henry, Odell, Deltha, Tank Johnson, ect., any minor blemish is blown up and portrayed to be another example of how NFL players are out of control.

don't let your love for the Steelers make you blind to the fact that Joey Porter is a first class a**h***, a turd.

He threw the first punch in the fight with William Green; he got shot in ass at his alma mater, probably for running his big mouth no doubt; he constantly disrespects his opponents and the game itself; and now he thinks he some big time gangster jumping people and robbing them. He's nothing but a punk, not a man but a punk.

He's a decent football player whose skills are diminishing, but as a human being he's a worthless piece of s**t.

I will wager that within 5 years of Porter's retirement/exile/banishment from football, that he will be either dead or in jail.

Some people just don't get it.

No way I take that wager. I bet it will be 3 years ... max.

1. f**k Dan Patrick.

2. Pattern Master, Porter didn't get shot for anything he did. He was at a club, and went outside just as a guy was driving by, shooting at somebody. Porter was in the way and got shot. He didn't have anything to do with the shooting. He didn't even know the shooter or the intended target. He just literally walked into the wrong place at the wrong time.

3. Again, Porter isn't the kind of moron who has a long history of criminal behavior. This is really the only problem he's had. Everything else has either been something his dogs did (not him), or just saying/doing something controversial, like his comments about Kellen Winslow Jr, the whole thing with the President that he says was meant as a joke, and stuff like that. I'd say that someone like Chris Henry is MUCH more likely to end up dead/in jail than Porter.

I guess you're welcome to try if the opportunity presents itself or you can continue fantasizing about what having sex with him might be like, but seriously....I'm not the least bit interested. However, it's another matter entirely when it comes to joking about the Steelers long history of steroid use, the comparisons that can be made to professional wrestling, and the premature deaths of cartoon wrestlers and Steeler players who were guilty of cheating.

Again, I thought it was very funny stuff and Steeler fans can thank Joey Porter for it being broadcast nationwide.

:sure:

Dan Patrick is one of the more worthless imbeciles at ESPN, and that's really saying something.

Actually, you're not saying anything. All you're doing is trying to ignore the fact that Joey Porter's actions resulted in a nationally broadcast radio program taking potshots at the Steeler's long history of steroid use.

Yeah, I know you don't care. But that doesn't mean it wasn't funny.

What amazes me is these two guys ended up at the same blackjack table at the same time! I used to live in 'Vegas, and there certainly isn't any shortage of tables to lose your money (or your temper for that matter) at, so what are the odds of this happening? Astronomical, unless one knew the other was there and went looking for him.

Atleast you agree the guys is a moron, we just disagree on what kind of moron he is. :P

Albeit minor offenses, he does a history of doing stupid stuff, unlike a guy like Warrick Dunn who has a history of helping people and being a good all round person, see my point. Porter has no reason to act in such a juvenille manner, he's 30 year old father who could use his influence to help others. Instead he acts like a teenager who needs some discipline.

Word travels fast in Vegas and The Palms is like the new hangout of the celebrities in Sin City. I am sure someone called Porter and told him that Levi was in the casino. One person sure to be upset to miss a good brawl in Vegas would be PacMan Jones, he must of been busy scuffling at another bowling alley- perhaps throwing the snack bar girl dollar bills...

I was listening to the 2-Live Stews the other night and they were talking about how much of a beast Joey Porter was and that he beat up Levi. It actually pissed me off for them to be on the radio condoning this type of behavior by players that are supposed to be role models.

What does this say about Porter that he can talk so much trash on the field and get stonewalled by Levi, but when he has a posse of friends he attacks Levi on the street? To me it sounds like an idiot thug that thinks he is above the law. You want to talk trash on the field then back it up, fine. But if someone talks trash back, then you have to attack them on the street with your posse of friends, that is just ridiculous. I hope he gets a few days in jail and a rather heavy fine.

How funny would it be that he gets suspended by the league a few games for this under the new NFL player's off-the-field behaviors rule. That would be awesome!

:lmao:

Well here's an eye witness account, in case it wasn't posted yet (didn't see it).

Sounds like Porter was the instigator and was totally out of control - what an idiot:

Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Joey Porter was accused of punching Cincinnati Bengals lineman Levi Jones after police said the players exchanged trash talk at a blackjack table in Las Vegas this weekend.

Porter was issued a summons on a misdemeanor battery charge after the Sunday altercation that began inside the Palms hotel-casino, Las Vegas police said.

"They went outside. In the valet area, one struck the other, causing a small laceration above the eye," said Officer Martin Wright, calling the injury minor.

"We have determined that he (Jones) did not sustain any serious injuries," Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said. "Other than that, it's just not something that warrants any comment."

On Tuesday, witness Dave Benz came forward, describing the fight as something out of a "Rocky" movie.

"They were throwing down," said Benz. "They must have each gotten in a good three or four swings. Then all of a sudden, the bigger guy who I found out later was Levi Jones, picked up Joey Porter and tossed him probably 10 feet like he was a rag doll."

Benz said there was about 10 seconds where people broke the fight up, but said Porter broke loose and went after Jones again.

"Joey Porter broke free and ran full sprint at Levi Jones and dove through the air at him like he was trying to tackle Ladanian Tomlinson. Took him down with a tackle, then the two of them got up. They were throwing fists again. It sounded like a 'Rocky' movie."

Benz said Porter later kicked Jones in the head, causing some bleeding.

Benz said the whole incident started when Porter confronted Jones while he was playing poker.

Porter signed a five-year, $32 million deal with the Miami Dolphins earlier this month.

"We will monitor the situation and refrain from making any further comment until we gather more information," Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said.

Wright said a written police investigation and report won't be complete until at least the end of the week.
