'What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas'

I love the NFL and believe it is by far the most dominating of all of the major sports, however I can not stand with the NFL on how they continue to shine a negative light on Las Vegas. Here are a few examples of recent NFL and Vegas related incidents:

1- NFL does not allow Vegas to buy advertisting time for the Super Bowl 4 years ago (or anytime after)

2- NFL sends copyright infraction faxes to all major Las Vegas Casinos night before the Super Bowl 3 years ago telling them they can not charge an admission to watch games in Vegas party rooms on any screen larger than 28 inches

3- NFL will not allow any of the commentators on NFL Network to mention the point spread in any telecast

4- NFL advises NBC Sports that they can not run commericals for the show 'Las Vegas' at any time during pregame or during the Sunday Night NFL games

5- NFL team up with Bill Frist and are major backer of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Bill

Is the NFL pushing the envelope with Vegas a little too far? I for one probably go into Vegas twice a year during football season and love sitting in the sports book watching (and betting) on the games. Besides the Super Bowl host city IMHO Vegas would be second in the number of people watching the game. I waited in a 45 minute line at Mirage last year to lay a bet on the Super Bowl on gameday. I would watch and love the games whether I have a bet working on them or not, but I would have to wonder how many 'fans' the NFL has because of the fact they have a bet working.

It seems to me that NCAA basketball has always had more problems with the sportsbooks considering recent point shaving incidents. The funny thing in those cases was that the Vegas books were the ones that helped break the cases, but even in recent years the NCAA has backed off the pressure on Vegas (allowing bets on UNLV home games and even hosting a NCAA Tournament in Sin City).
