How does Weathersby accident affect our needs?
skyline replied to ntpou's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Sorry man, I just have a problem with disrespectful ignorance being displayed to my team that doesn't deserve it after going 8-8 last year. Maybe after previous years, but not now! If the BENGALS ever go 2-14 again...well so be it. And by definition this isn't smack. Smack is more of trash talking banter between two teams fans. This is a flame kinda thing. flaming, which is against the rules in most forums, and should be ended. -

geez people, enough already! this is beyond old. go to the smack forum if you just cant let it die... -
i hope they don't change the helmets. that way i don't have to change the helmet emoticon! :player:

what a bunch of idiots. they desperately needed to boot amber last night. if you can't take rob out due to immunity, then at least take out his supporters. best moment of the night was robs little emotional speech... "it was'nt about strat...well, yeah, it was about strategy, but..."
-
haha same here. his stuff is fun to play.

can't vouch for '97. i was a youngin' so i didn't follow too closely back then. that wasn't boomer's big year was it? ultimately, you're right. brown gets the final say so. still, lewis' fingerprints are all over this team. i'm also not sad to see sapp pass by in the least. way too much cap space, and not the move i want to see when we're trying to make this team young. i don't care who made the final call on that. i see it as a good one. The Bengals were 8-8 in 1996 and were 1-6 under Shula and 7-2 under Brucie. In 1997 they started off 1-7 but ended up 7-9 after Boomer took over later in the year. One trend I see is that they sucked at the beginning of each season (Sept/Oct). ML took care of that by having them in game shape and getting some new trainers and making sure guys seriously participated in off season workouts. That was a significant change to me. yeah, it was a big change, but they still sucked at the beginning of the year, haha. 0-3, and an opening day trashing. -

yeah, i can't understand that one at all. they need to get davis out of there.

i object to the mike brown part. no team being run entirely by mike brown would have had an 8-8 season last year. maybe im just a sucker, but i truly feel this is marvin's team. if you don't like the current personnel moves, i think lewis is your guy to point the finger at, not brown. -
that falcons game was AWFUL. i remember getting so excited to finally get to watch a bengals game here in nashville. heartbreaking...

last year was good enough for me to have the title ditched. i do agree, though, that they really need to make the playoffs before they truly shed all of the connotations attached to the franchise. -

haha my bad...i must have...forgotten. -
me too, but the season is very young. teams will fare better against them the second time around after they've had a chance to scout them and have faced them once before. but who knows. maybe they'll surprise me. here's hoping!

come on people. youre making it sound like football is a religion. its not...its just football. while i support the bengals 100%, theyre just a team. barbarian is entitled to his opinion. he can call them the bungles, and i can disagree. now lets move on. -
yeah, im guessing the bullpen will be our strength yet again this year. just one game of many.
-
that's not what your last post said. i wouldn't mind having grove, though.
-
umm, ok, so grove and the TE are going to help us stop the run any more effectively? i think gardener and webster will both help our run defense tremendously.
-
i disagree. i want to see us stockpile as many picks as possible and use them for depth, depth, depth.
-
if we get gardener, im all for DE. i think gardener and JT will do for this year. get two bookend pass rushers, and we'll be dangerous.
-
ive gotten 30 quite a few times now. on the windmill hole, you don't have to go straight through to get a hole in one. you can do it by going through one of the rockets on either side of the windmill. just thought i'd share

i just remember going to a game a couple of years ago where t.j. made a few really big catches for us in one game. i may be wrong, but it might have been that pitt. game where kitna threw for 394590358 yards, and we ended up coming from behind to win in overtime.
-
yeah i really missed this guy last year. i thought he showed a ton of promise.
-
i dont think you can access the schedule just by going to bengals.com and clicking on a link. you have to take the link given earlier in this thread. they probably put it up, but didn't plan on the link getting leaked just yet.

pretty good hobson's choice over there today. check it out if you haven't. i agree this season will be a big one for lewis one way or another. if his free agents don't pan out, i don't think it will break him, but it will take away that super man vibe he has at the moment.
