  1. Changing Things With Free Agents / Draft

Any LB that is worth a flyer, should be considered. Is Jamie Collins still available? I'd like to see Darren Lee picked up when the Jets release him.
  2. Good on Taylor but WTF Marvin?

What I'm worrying about is it sounds like Taylor is focusing on the Offense. The head coach should be focused on all aspects of the team, just changing focus to the O instead of the D will not work any better.
  3. 2nd Round Pick: Drew Sample, TE, Washington

I like the idea of three TE sets, for the running game and a power/big target sub package for play action short yardage passing. Eat the clock!! WHO-DEY
  4. Draft pick grades after reading scouting reports

They had to use 3 picks to get 1 player, no problem I would have been happy with either Bush or Williams. I just hope now that Bush has the same kind of success in Pittsburgh as TTUN has had for years against my team.
  5. 2nd Round Pick: Drew Sample, TE, Washington

    Just for fun Sample combine #'s 6'5" 255 lbs. arms 33 3/8" hands 95/8" 40 time 4.71 3-cone 7.15 Eifert combine #'s 6'5" 250 lbs. arms 33 1/8" hands 9 1/8" 40 time 4.68 3-cone 6.92 I don't see a lot of difference in the measurables, so may be they can teach the kid how to become a receiving TE. Sample is a little bigger/longer, Eifert is a little faster/quicker.
  6. 6th Round Pick (C): Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma

Not really the running style, but Anderson is a WR/RB type player and Williams is not. neither look to be a bruiser type back. the talent level for all 4 of them to me seems really close, all could be a #1 if needed
  7. "Official Draft Day(s) Thread"

Did he ever go anywhere? He would still make a good piece of the puzzle on D
  8. 6th Round Pick (C): Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma

I think he will see the field as a receiving RB that can also line up in the slot, he has really good hands. He may take snaps from GIO, if he stays healthy. I see a platoon of four very good RB's, keeping everybody fresh. It may be that Williams is not active in certain games and Anderson in others, depending on the type of defense they are playing. I also see them keeping 1 less WR to make room for all 4 of these guys,.
  9. Bengals UDFA signings

I see a tough possession WR, may be a slower version of Housh
  10. Bengals UDFA signings

Sterling Sheffield LB Maine - small school standout. at pro day his 3 cone would have been top 5, broad jump top 10, mean edge player that tackles well Put me down on this kids bandwagon, it think he sticks as backup this season and starter within the next 2.
  11. 4th Round Pick (C): Michael Jordan, OG, OSU

I just read this kid is a lifelong Bengals fan, that just got drafted because his team traded up to make sure they got him. Cool story and could give him that confidence to be special here.
  12. 4th Round Pick (A): Ryan Finley, QB, NC St.

He is the backup, but in a couple of years when Andy is looking for his next contract, he is leverage.
  13. 4th Round Pick (B): Renell Wren, DT, Arizona St.

I'm not complaining, he may turn into a great DT with some coaching. Heck just playing beside Atkins should help him. He does need to develop though.
  14. Draft pick grades after reading scouting reports

I saw a big difference in the type of player that they were looking to get, football junkies not physical freaks. I like the change to players that love the game even if they dont have the measurables, they will give anything they can to do the job on the field. Just look at Erickson, he has drive and not overwhelming talent, but he always seems to get it done when asked.
  15. "Official Draft Day(s) Thread"

Very welcome, I was enjoying the draft discussions here and tried to keep it going. I need to work on consistency just like a few of our draft picks LOL Thanks for what you do to keep the discussions going Army!
  16. 4th Round Pick (A): Ryan Finley, QB, NC St.

I don't know if they keep 3 QB's and neither Finley or Driskel will make it on the PS long before someone steals them. I think it will be 1 or the other going forward, Driskel made improvement last season playing. If he grows more this camp he may win the battle, he is an athlete/competitor and will not roll over for Finley.
  17. 2nd Round Pick: Drew Sample, TE, Washington

I didn't know anything about this kid going into the draft, but this is the hole that needed to be filled at TE. Eifert and Uzoma (SP) can be receiving TE's, even though both can block neither does it as well as Sample. Sample can also play blocking back for Mixon and Gio.
  18. 6th Round Pick (C): Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma

I love this pick, if he can stay healthy he could be #2maybe even 1B on the RB chart. I say this and I have always like GIO!
  19. 4th Round Pick (B): Renell Wren, DT, Arizona St.

That film shows he needs some development. I think he may have done a swim move a couple times, but bull rush is his move and he does it well. We already have enough players that get close to the QB and cant make a move to make the play.
  20. 2nd Round Pick: Drew Sample, TE, Washington

Reggie used to have some big catches in big situations if Sample can equal Kelly I'd be ecstatic.
  21. 2nd Round Pick: Drew Sample, TE, Washington

Got to be Kelly, he could catch and his blocking was very good
  22. 6th Round Pick (B): Deshaun Davis, MLB, Auburn

Old school run stopper LB. sub package player
  23. 6th Round Pick (C): Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma

Another late round steal, this kid has tremendous potential that never got to see much time due to three random injuries. Hopefully not the next IR resident.
  24. 7th Round Pick: Jordan Brown, CB, SDSU

I saw a draft site that had a third round grade on this kid
