  1. College Basketball

That is so ... beautiful. Billy for Poet Laureate!
  2. Marvin's fan approval rating

Ratbirds fans don't have faith in Billick after a loss, so what makes you think that a better defense will do anything about that? (Billick's approval rating on that stupid ESPN poll dipped to 43% a couple weeks ago after their lose to Carolina.) As I said before, the poll is absolutely meaningless.
  3. Marvin's fan approval rating

The poll is absolutely meaningless. The majority are voting purely off of wins and loses rather than overall direction. How else can an approval rating drop from 90% all the way to 58% from a 2-point loss to one of the best teams in the NFC?
  4. Ravens to fire Fassel

The Ravens have a mediocre offense, and really I can't blame them for firing Fassel, but why now? I can't see the offense improving that much without Fassel around.
  5. MNF Cardinals vs Da Bears

Rackers missed from 40 yards!! (I am soooooooo glad we have Shayne)
  6. MNF Cardinals vs Da Bears

    Cardinals have a chance here...
  7. MNF Cardinals vs Da Bears

    24 - 23 Bears. Wow.
  8. MNF Cardinals vs Da Bears

    20 - 0
  9. I can't believe that the school and the conference are only going to suspend players for one game. That guy swinging his helmet around should at least be out for the season. And there were some others that should be suspended in the long term as well. At least if nothing else, the punk announcer got fired. Maybe he can apply for Steve Lyons old job.
  10. Upcoming Schedule

vs Carolina vs Atlanta at Baltimore vs San Diego at New Orleans Each of our next five opponents have winning records. This does not look like a very pleasant stretch, especially after the last two games...
  11. Upcoming Schedule

The division will be won and lost with the division games. If nothing else, I'm glad to see that the next division game won't be for another couple weeks. There should be time to get healthy. My concern is that if the struggles continue, we will force ourselves into must-win situations in the division games. That's not to say that we won't win those games, but that I just prefer to have some breathing room between us and the competition (but what's the fun in that? ).
  12. I can't believe that one punk announcer. It's one thing to have a battle royal on the field. It's another to have the announcer condoning the violence, but actually openly supporting it. And what was the deal with the Miami players "victory dance" on the sidelines? COngratuations Miami -- you just got a number of your players suspended. What a great thing to celebrate!
  13. Offensive Cordinator???? Bratkowski

Yep. It's not quite the same level, but try playing Tecmo Bowl in coach mode and see how well you do.
  14. Upcoming Schedule

I hope you're right. I guess part of it was that I had today marked down as the day when things would start to get back on track somewhat. Not only did that not happen, but we lost on top of it. Even with injuries and all you should still beat winless teams...
  15. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

If there is an offensive version of the prevent defense, I think the Bengals have found it. Ya know how the prevent defense prevents you from winning? Well, the Bengals seem to have developed the prevent offense which yields the same result as the prevent defense -- losing.
  16. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

Because he had already crossed the plane of the end zone. After you break the plane, the TD is scored and everything else is moot. That's actually not true. You have to possess to the ground if you are making a catch, even in the end zone. Bad call part II. Not exactly. You're probably thinking of a receiver making an airborne catch in the end zone. If the receiver cathces the ball in the air, he must touch down both feet in bounds in order to get the TD. Even if the football has broken the plane of the endzone and the receiver has control, his feet must also go down. In this particular play, the receivers feet were already down in the field of play, so all he had to do was break the plane of the endzone. At that point, it is a touchdown. Wrong. You must 1st establish possession, 2 feet down control of ball and 1 FOOTBALL MOVE! He had 1 foot down questionable possesion with one hand that looked like the ball was floating and laces turned a bit, and he hit the ground and falled to maintain possession. Even if your in the back of the endzone and drag your feet you must maintain possession of the ball unpon contact with the ground, any movement you lose. Same here. No football move means retain possession upon contact with the ground. He did not. Also the ref on the field ruled incomplete clearly there was not indisputable replay evidence to overturn the call. BAD CALL. If you have possession and break the plane, it is a touchdown. The question is about whether he had possession or not.

  18. Someone, anyone tell me what the #### was the call

There's not much to clear up. Ever since the Trent Green hit, the refs are quick with the flag any time a Bengal does as little as breathe on the opposing QB.
  19. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

It's one thing to blame the refs for unwarranted legit stuff. But the calls in that series on both sides of the ball were absolutely terrible.
  20. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

Thank goodness. We got lucky here fellas.
  21. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

Terrible call. Well, we know which team the Refs want to win.
  22. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

That was terrible. Defense, do your job one more time...
  23. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

At least Shayne is performing at a high level unlike the rest of the team. Up by 6 now...
  24. Bengals v. Bucs Game thread

    Shayne!
